First Responder
The First Responder course focuses on teaching basic first aid and emergency response. The course is designed for firefighters, police officers, security officers, emergency dispatchers, industrial safety personnel, lifeguards, and others who respond to emergencies. The program is great for teachers, coaches, teachers, and other professionals who work in situations in which medical emergencies could arise.
Topics include scene safety, CPR, automated external defibrillators, airway management, bleeding control and bandaging, extrication and rescue, patient handling, immobilization, and medical emergencies.
Total course time - 40 Hours

EMT-Basic
The EMT-Basic is the introductory level of EMS training and gives students the knowledge needed to work as an Emergency Medical Technician. The course combines lecture and lab training to cover such topics as scene safety, EMS systems, communication, documentation, patient assessment, airway management, traumatic injuries, medical emergencies and more. All skills necessary to provide emergency medical care for the trauma and medical patient at the basic life support level.
Students will also be required to complete a 10 hour clinical experience at local hospitals or EMS facilities to apply classroom knowledge to real life.

Prerequisites: 18 years old or 17 and in last year of high school
Valid Ohio DL
No felonies or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude

Certification as an EMT Basic in Ohio is contingent upon successfully completing the course requirements and passing the National Registry Written and Practical Exams.
Tuition - $650.00 ( Includes application/registration fee)
A $110.00 prepayment/registration fee (non-refundable) is required upon registration to hold a place in the class. This registration fee is applied to the total tuition.
The remaining balance of $540.00 may be made in two payments of $270.00. The first payment is due on the first day of class. The second payment is due on the first day of the second month of class.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS FOR EMT BASIC
1. Application Procedure: A signed and completed application and payment of the $110.00 non-refundable application fee must be submitted.
Application may be downloaded from the website.
2. Submit a copy of a valid healthcare provider level CPR card that will not expire for the duration of the class time. If you do not have a valid card please indicate on your application whether you will be obtaining one elswhere or are enrolled in a Central Ohio EMS Training CPR Course.
No physical or drug screen required
The EMT Basic certification level is required prior to advancement to the higher levels of EMS training.
This curriculum includes instruction in preparatory skills, advanced airway management and ventilation, patient assessment, trauma, medical emergencies, shock management and more. Skills emphasized include initiation of IV lines, intraosseus infusion, intubation, manual defibrillation, bronchodilators and administration of medications. Students complete classroom and lab training plus clinical time.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS FOR EMT INTERMEDIATE
1. Application Procedure: A signed and completed application and payment of the $110.00 non-refundable application fee must be submitted.
2. Submit a copy of current EMT-Basic certification card that will not expire for the duration of the class time.
3. Submit a copy of a valid CPR card that will not expire for the duration of the class time.
4. Once admitted, submit documentation of the following;
- Non-Dot drug screen (less than 6 months old)
- Mantoux test (one step)
- Hep B Titre (less than 1 year old)
- MMR booster
- Statewide background check
Paramedic

The paramedic is the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care. The paramedic program is an intense 600 to 800 hour course of study designed for certified EMT’s who desire to increase their level of certification. Providers at this level are able to perform advanced life support for the medical and trauma patient. Some procedures performed at this level include; IV therapy, medication administration, cardiac monitoring/defibrillation/interpretation, surgical airway techniques and many other advanced interventions.
Prerequisite; EMT-Basic or Intermediate
This course is 600 to 800 hours in length.
ADMISSIONS PROCESS FOR PARAMEDICS:
1. Application Procedure: A signed and completed application and payment of the $150.00 non-refundable application fee, and evidence of current EMT-Basic or Intermediate level certification is required in order to be able to sit for the pre-entrance examinations.
2. Written Pre-Entrance Test: Applicants are required to take a pre-entrance exam, which is a test of Basic EMT knowledge.
3.Students will be required to successfully pass practical skill stations as part of the pre-entrance examination. The practical skills will consist of Trauma Patient Assessment, Cardiac Arrest Management/AED, and Adult Airway Management with endotracheal intubation.
4. Submit a copy of a valid CPR card that will not expire for the duration of the class time.
5. Pay the following non-refundable fees;

$500.00 admissions fee

6. Purchase all required books for the program.

Payments
Payments must be paid on the 1st day of each month, per our payment policy. If payments are not made by the first of the month a $5.00 per day fee will be assessed for the first week. At the end of the first week the student will be dismissed from the program until fees and penalties are paid. If student misses more than the allowable hours the student will be permanently dismissed from the program. If the student misses a lab class, a fee of $65.00 per skill will be assessed and due at the time of the students return to class.
Payments are made on a six month basis.
